The last story of "Smiles Under the Moon." The one it was all leading up to. Of course, it might be hard to notice unless you've been paying very close attention. It's called "The Wishes Must Endure - The Fearful's Tale."
It begins as unknown people kidnap a woman out of her home. Instead of doing something terrible to her, they grant her a wish - and she wishes for her fear of death to disappear.
The story analyzes a lot. Why is the fear of death important? What does it do for us? How would someone without a fear of death act? Of course, there is also a surprising narrative woven around these questions - not all of which are answered fully.
The idea for this story came from my own life. For a long period of depression, I had an intense fear of death - despite being a believing Christian. I talked to friends and mentors, I read the Bible, and, thankfully, the fear subsided.
This tale has my favorite ending of the bunch - it's truly something special. That's all of the stories. Tomorrow will be information about the book as a whole. We're down to less than five days until the book is released!
